However, their defensive problems was exposed after their friendly match triumph against Cameroon, 3-2, that include goals of Giroud and the stunning free kick of Payet.
The Westham player has scored two free kicks since being recalled to the national squad and while Deschamps had reservations about his induction, Payet already made himself a place.
They will meet Romania in their debut match in Group an on June 10 at Stade de France before facing Albania and Switzerland.
On the flipped side, Deschamps defends Giroud after the latter being booed by their own fans in a friendly match against Cameroon. A small group of French supporters whispered at the Arsenal star during Les Blues’ win. Deschamps found it offensive and it is not right to boo their star player who is about to lead the French’s campaign.
The twenty-nine year old Giroud has made five goals in his last six international matches and is expected to lead the line for France when the Euro Cup begins next week.
Payet in the meantime, hailed as the new free-kick king since Zinadine Zidane and aside from Cristiano Ronaldo. He is now the most feared football specialist for the European Championships. He is instrumental for securing the 3-2 friendly match win against Cameroon, by propelling the ball straight into the goal against the towering defenders.
Payet has scored 14 goals for France and West Ham, with six are coming from free kicks. The average of those kicks is 53.6mph, with his fastest recorded at 62.9mph, against Russia in 4-2 friendly win last March. Meanwhile, the distance of his dead balls are ranging from 30.5 yards.
With this impressive performances from Giroud and Payet, France touted themselves as strong contenders. They have to make their presence felt in every game because it will be a tough blow for the Les Blues if they didn’t deliver especially from Payet who is red hot right now.
